Windmills Cafe

Windmills Cafe offers high quality training in Food Hygiene, Health and Safety and Employability to young people with learning disabilities within our cafe in Motherwell Town Centre. Our Trainees are at the forefront of Windmills Cafe and they participate in all aspects of cafe working: customer care, cooking, recruitment of trainees and all cafe-related decisions.
Our aims are to offer quality training within our custom-designed kitchen and cafe and to showcase the undoubted skills and qualities of our tremendous Trainees to the wider community and also to potential employers. 

We also offer meaningful work experience opportunities to those pupils from local secondary schools who wish to explore the world of work within a busy, working cafe environment
Our cafe is supported financially by the Big Lottery Fund and Wooden Spoon. and is open to the public from Monday to Saturday. 

We also offer a high quality Buffet Service which is prepared by our Trainees and offers fantastic value for money. Windmills Cafe also offers training leading to the REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate to all who wish to participate.
